Professional bachelor's program in computer design is created and licensed in 2001, in June 2003, and accredited for 6 years. Last evaluation was in 2011. Evaluation materials (Computer design evaluation).
Under this program, about 450 students are trained in the School.. In accordance with professional standards (Reg.№ PS 0069) computer designer has to design the designed object in a digital format, he can create, manage, stylize and radically change the graphic image, a spatial object (in the graphic arts, modeling, design, media and advertising) and mobile image (video, animation), using a computer, as well as prepare technologically justified documentation required for the project realization.
Specialist in computer design can reasonably formulate and implement a work task and realize an artistic idea, taking advantage of computer technology and other advanced technologies. He should be able to work in groups to plan and implement improvement of their knowledge and skills. Computer designer applies his knowledge and skills in designing and manufacturing sectors in education, business information, advertising and graphic arts, fashion, entertainment and art.
Specialists in computer design are to be able to work in contact with clients, integrate into the projects architectonic content and virtual projects, to build environment, assessing the impact of its technological, aesthetic and functional quality on a person, as well as ethnic, cultural and historical features of the environment in the context of the situation of the European cultural space.
The purpose of the training program: training all-round educated, creatively thinking expert in computer design, the formation of cultural and economic, cultural and historical context of professional activities, and understanding of problems of the specialty and design.
Students study 4-5 days a week (including the implementation of practical work), in Latvian and Russian groups, every day they have 3-4 classes in the form of lectures, seminars, practical work, practice, training and workshops, full-time students - 9.00 to 15.00, evening students - Tuesdays, Wednesdays from 17:00 to 21:00, Saturdays from 10.00 to 16.30.
Duration - 4 years.
